MICROOMICS is a technology-based biotech company, located on the campus of the Institut de Recerca – Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, whose know-how is based on the combination of the use of massive molecular sequencing technologies, together with high capacities in bioinformatics analysis and data mining, providing answers to processes and business models through the analysis of microbial biomarkers (bacteria, viruses and fungi).
MICROOMICS acts as a microbiome contract research organisation (CRO) and its mission is to provide breakthrough solutions, services and products through an alternative and innovative approach to new and traditional problems in the pharmaceutical, health, energy, agri-food, consumer goods and environment sectors. And it aims to become a leading national and European provider of metagenomic analysis, consistently committed to a dual model of investment in R&D&I and feedback on its dedicated services and products.
As a biotechnology company, Microomics has a unique national platform for the study of the microbiome, which allows the coordination of microbiome analysis assays from more than 50 different types of matrices in the four main sectors of activity (human health, animal health, agriculture and industry).
Its facilities include a modern, high-capacity computer system and its own clean room, which reduces the experimental errors that accumulate during the various experimental phases, since the entire project is developed in an integral scientific nucleus.
